 TV and Radio Talk Shows

Send your message to radio and TV talk shows!  You can bring important issues to the attention of talk show hosts resulting in thousands or millions of people being informed.  Hosts frequently read e-mail on the air.  You can expose or praise how Congressmen and Senators vote, or challenge a host's statements and point of view. Please realize that many talk show hosts are politically conservative. Also, there may be a basic lack of logic to their slant. Do not let a host get away with making an off the wall assumption and then trying to use "facts" to back up their seemingly logical conclusion. 
 

For example: during the time leading up to the Iraq war, many hosts used the slant, "3,000 innocent people died in the 9/11 attacks and you say we shouldn't go in there and overthrow that &%4### ? So you want to let them go on killing more Americans for Peace?"  
  

The argument sounds good.  9/11 did happen. It was tragic beyond words. BUT WHAT DOES INVADING IRAQ HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING? The terrorists that performed the 9/11 attacks were not from Iraq - they were from Saudi Arabia. Yes, Saddam may be a really bad guy, and the host may be able to back up just how bad of a guy he is with all kinds of facts, but the assumption that Iraq is somehow connected with 9/11 is unfounded. By linking the two together, the host is then able to logically conclude that since you do not want to invade Iraq you are for killing more innocent Americans. 
  

Be sure that you have your ducks in a row before calling in, and do not fall victim to false logic.
